Bungie Reveals List Of Exotic Weapons Getting Reworked In Destiny 2 Lightfall

Lightfall is getting closer and closer as the days pass by and we are a little over two months away from the next major expansion in Destiny 2. Bungie has already talked about what players can expect in this upcoming expansion, including a brand-new subclass– Strand, a new destination on Neptune called Neomuna, a new enemy type called Tormentors, and much more.

Recently, Bungie’s Senior Design Lead, Chris Proctor, and Associate Weapons Designer, Mercules, who was previously one of the hosts of the podcast before getting hired by Bungie, have deep-dived into answering some of the weapons sandbox questions from the community in the latest episode of the DCP Live podcast.

During the episode, when asked if players could expect any exotic weapon reworks or if any exotics are getting new catalysts in Destiny 2 Lightfall, to which Chris Proctor replied, “So, actually, we’re doing a big part on subclass 3.0 verbs on exotic weapons. There’s a whole bunch of changes, most of them are of that type, though.”

Proctor also dropped some specific exotics that are getting the 3.0 verb rework in Lightfall. These are not all of them:

  • The Queenbreaker (Linear Fusion Rifle)
  • Ruinous Effigy (Trace Rifle)
  • Leviathan’s Breath (Bow)
  • One Thousand Voices (Fusion Rifle)
  • Sunshot (Hand Cannon)
  • Polaris Lance (Scout Rifle)
  • Two-Tailed Fox (Rocket Launcher)
  • Prometheus Lens (Trace Rifle)

“There are a couple of others that we’re going to sit on for now,” Proctor continued. “Those are actually the exotics that we’re touching in kind of a major way and then there is a handful of other things that we’re doing as well.”

“I think we will just keep the catalysts to ourselves for the moment,” Proctor concluded.

Bungie recently released a new gameplay trailer for Lightfall during this year’s The Game Awards show, showcasing the new Strand subclass, a Hunter grappling to a Thundercrash Titan, which was definitely the star moment of the trailer. (not forgetting whatever is going on at the end as well)

Destiny 2 Lightfall launches February 28, 2023, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
