Florida State lands commitment from No. 1 transfer TE Jaheim Bell

Florida State has landed the commitment of South Carolina tight end transfer Jaheim Bell.

Bell — 247Sports’ top ranked tight end prospect and the No. 4 overall player in the NCAA Transfer Portal — announced the news of his pledge to the Seminoles on social media moments ago.

“My fans who followed me and supported me on this journey to my next chapter of my career,” Bell said in the video above. “I would like to thank each coach for the opportunity they gave me. With that being said, I’ll be taking my talents back to the crib. Go ‘Noles!”

The 6-foot-3, 232-pound athlete entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Monday, December 5. He was quickly targeted by the Seminoles as Noles247 reported he spoke with head coach mike norvell and several other members of FSU’s coaching staff that night. He was then visited by Norvell and staff in South Carolina on Thursday before making a weekend official visit to Tallahassee — which stretched from Friday to Sunday.

In his three years at South Carolina, Bell played in 30 games and totaled 56 receptions for 757 yards and seven touchdowns. He also added 80 carries for 301 yards and three more scores.

As a high school recruit at Valdosta (Ga.), Bell was the No. 393 overall player and No. 17 athlete in the nation according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings. At the time, he held scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida, Auburn, FSU and close to 35 other programs.

After the commitment of miami transfer defensive lineman Darrell Jackson to the ‘Noles last week, Bell becomes FSU’s second transfer addition this offseason. The Seminoles aren’t done, however, as they’re still looking to add up to ten total players via the portal. They hosted — including Bell — four transfer portal prospects this past weekend.

Some remaining portal options for the Seminoles include former Shorter University tight end Kyle MorlockUTEP offensive lineman Jeremiah ByersUCF cornerback Davente Brown and several others.
