Better late than never… congratulations to first-time mom Jennifer Lawrence!
The “Don’t Look Up” star, 31, confirmed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Monday that she and her art gallery husband Cooke Maroney, 37, have indeed welcomed their first child together.
Lawrence called into “Ellen” about a month after reports first circulated that she had given birth. “Thank you,” Lawrence replied after host DeGeneres congratulated her on her new baby.
DeGeneres added that she used to live in the house that Lawrence now lives in with her baby.
“Now I live next door to you, and I’m looking at you living in my house with a brand new baby,” DeGeneres said. “By the way, I do hear you sometimes talking to him, and it’s really cute.”
USA TODAY has reached out to Lawrence’s reps for comment.
Her representative Liz Mahoney first confirmed news of Lawrence’s pregnancy to USA TODAY in early September.
In December, Lawrence opened up to Vanity Fair about her hopes to “protect” her children’s privacy.
“If I was at a dinner party, and somebody was like, ‘Oh, my God, you’re expecting a baby,’ I wouldn’t be like, ‘God, I can’t talk about that. Get away from me , you psycho!’ But every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can,” she said.

“I don’t want anyone to feel welcome into their existence,” Lawrence told the outlet. “And I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work.”
Lawrence and Maroney tied the knot at a mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, in October 2019. The couple began dating in the summer of 2018 and confirmed their engagement in February 2019.
Maroney is a director of the Gladstone Gallery, an art gallery with locations in New York City, Los Angeles and Brussels.
Lawrence, who previously dated her “Mother!” director Darren Aronofsky, told Catt Sadler during a podcast in June 2019 that before meeting Maroney, she wasn’t in the marrying frame of mind.
“I just met Cooke, and I wanted to marry him,” Lawrence said. “We wanted to marry each other; we wanted to commit fully. He’s my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever.
“Fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet (and) you’re like, ‘You can’t leave.’ “
