Several Husker transfers ranked in Top247 transfer rankings

247Sports expanded its College Football Transfer Portal Player Rankings to a Top247 and Nebraska had seven players end up in the Top247.

Two Huskers earned a four-star rating of 90 or above, headlined by TCU transfer Ochaun Mathis, who checked in at No. 12 overall with a rating of 94. Mathis, who picked Nebraska over Texas and is now in Nebraska, is the second-ranked defender in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings.

Arizona State cornerback transfer Tommy Hill, who enrolled at Nebraska in January and went through spring ball in Lincoln, checked in at No. 59 on the list with an overall rating of 90.

Other Huskers who ended up in the Top247 included: Alabama safety transfer Kaine Williams checked in at No. 106 overall on the list, rated as an 89, Northern Iowa cornerback transfer Omar Brown was No. 120, rated as an 89, Texas quarterback transfer Casey Thompson sits No. 154 overall, rated as an 89, LSU wide receiver transfer Trey Palmer job No. 157 overall rated as an 89, and New Mexico State wide receiver transfer Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda rounds out the Huskers in the Top247, sitting at No. 246 with an overall rating of 87.

Brown, Thompson, Palmer and Garcia-Castaneda were all in Lincoln for spring practices.

Nebraska’s 2022 transfer portal class is rated No. 6 overall in the country by 247Sports and No. 1 in the Big Ten.
