Three-star defensive tackle Roderick Pierce commits to Wisconsin

Wisconsin continues to stay hot on the recruiting trail this spring. The Badgers picked up their fifth commitment in the class of 2023 and fourth since May 6 as Oak Lawn (Ill.) Brother Rice defensive tackle Roderick Pierce made the call to head coach Paul Chryst.

The three-star prospect chose UW over Iowa State, Minnesota, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Syracuse, Purdue, Kansas, Duke, and more. Pierce was a high priority for the Badgers and was offered by defensive line coach Ross Kolodziej in early March.

“I am seriously considering Wisconsin because of the balance of sports, academics, and social life that is rare at other colleges I’ve visited,” he told 247sports. “[The visit] it was great. The thing that stood out to me was the atmosphere in Madison. There’s nothing like it.”

Per 247sports, Pierce is the nation’s No. 107 ranked defensive lineman in the class of 2023.
