What Bennedict Mathurin says
“I think I’m a two-way player,” Mathurin said at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. “I think I’m able to showcase (how) to get a stop defensively. I get (after) it for 30 seconds and we get the (win) because I get a stop, or offensively because I’m able to shoot the ball and just have an impact both ways.”

“I got the chance to meet a lot of the people, the players and coach Rick (Carlisle) obviously. I see myself fitting there. Tyrese (Haliburton) is a great point guard. Myles Turner, one of the best shot blockers in the game right now. Coach Rick just being a great coach. I see myself going over there for sure.”

Bennedict Mathurin and his brother
Mathurin said “the fire” he plays with started when he was a kid, and it only got hotter after his older brother, Dominique, died in a bicycle accident when Mathurin was 12. He honors his sibling often by adding “#domixworld” to his Instagram posts.
“#Domixworld means everything to me,” said Mathurin. “Unfortunately I lost my brother like (eight) years ago. He’s the reason I keep going every day in life. He’s the reason why I just want to be the best at everything I do in life. That’s #domixworld.”
